Scholarships

Shoghi Effendi expressed the desire that all the friends “spend at least a few days in one of these summer schools,”  and “have some time to get into the spirit of the place and make a study of the Cause…” (From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to an individual believer, quoted in “Bahá’í News” 67 (October 1932), p. 4.) He wished that all would, “through daily association…  come to see the Cause functioning as an active and living community entirely dedicated to the service of what is best and highest in the world,” “familiarize them with the principles underlying the New World Order,” and “enable them to see the way in which these very same principles are put into operation.” (From a letter dated 14 October 1936 written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to an individual believer)

It is our hope that no one will be excluded from this event because of insufficient funds. Many Local Spiritual Assemblies have scholarship funds to assist residents to attend Bahá’í summer schools and conferences. If you need financial assistance to attend and live under the jurisdiction of a Local Spiritual Assembly, please request assistance from the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of your community. If you do not live under the jurisdiction of a Local Spiritual Assembly and need assistance, or if your Assembly cannot help, please request assistance from the Western Washington Baha’i School Committee at washingtonwest@nbs.usbnc.org. We are raising money for a scholarship fund for those who cannot get assistance from a Local Spiritual Assembly.
